About Us

Start Here Header

Wildfire NCW is a trusted, bilingual wildfire resource hub created for Chelan and Douglas County residents by a coalition of local organizations working together to reduce wildfire risk and impacts.

We bring preparedness information, smoke health resources, and where to find emergency information into one accessible place—so people can find what they need before, during, and after wildfire. By building on trusted state and federal resources and translating them into locally relevant, actionable guidance, we help preparedness feel achievable, not overwhelming.

Our Purpose

We envision a North Central Washington where all people are informed, prepared, and empowered to take meaningful action around wildfire.

Our purpose is to ensure every resident and visitor has access to clear, timely, and practical wildfire information, no matter their language, income, or housing situation.

We exist to reduce loss, increase readiness, and support community resilience in the face of a growing wildfire reality.

Our Values

  • Accessibility – Information should be easy to find, easy to understand, and available in the languages our community speaks.
  • Trust – We prioritize accuracy, transparency, and partnership with credible local, state, and federal organizations.
  • Local Relevance – Preparedness is not one-size-fits-all. Our resources reflect the unique landscape, risks, and communities of North Central Washington.
  • Collaboration – Wildfire preparedness is a shared responsibility, strengthened through cooperation across agencies and organizations.
  • Empowerment – We focus on clear next steps that help people take action with confidence.
